United Way of Anderson County will host a used book sale on May 13, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Anderson Mall, to support early literacy efforts in Anderson County. Funds will be used to support projects and programs focused on promoting reading to young children, encouraging parents to read to their children and getting free books into the hands of children that may not otherwise have easy access to books. In preparation for the event, the United Way will be collecting gently used books (for all ages) throughout March and April. Books can be brought to the United Way office at 604 North Murray Avenue, or be on the lookout for drop off points at in your areas. Books will be collected the first week of May.

Recreation Center. Bring your PEBA card. Have your blood drawn and receive a comprehensive health screen. Need to fast for 12 hours. Open to employees and spouses on City health insurance plan (no cost). Local health care vendors, prizes, wellness hours.
